Overlooked Indies

Each of these games had less than 100 reviews at the time I bought them but deserve many more.

Maybe they have a really cool idea which deserves to be fleshed out or amazing art direction. Maybe they're just fantastic games it's a crime more people don't know about. Regardless of the reason, this page is where I make my small contribution to getting the word out.

Axyz

Really deserves more attention; it's a relaxing puzzle game with fantastic 90s vibes that keeps things fresh by introducing new mechanics in each set of levels (represented in the interface as floppy drives you slot into your very 90s computer). I can't believe this has only sold 2000 copies.

Key Fairy

A truly whimsical Metroidvania with the gameplay of Sanabi but pacifist. Really enjoyed the vibes of this one and the gameplay is solid/surprisingly intuitive as well. Plus it's made by fellow Aussies!

Nothing Beyond this Point

A top-down twin stick shooter Metroidvania where your health is also your ammo. There's a surprisingly good story here, and evocative visuals despite the central hook of being set in a void. Great if you enjoy exploration and sequence breaks, plus the combat is very solid. I had a tough time putting this down despite coming in with fairly low expectations. Also another Aussie dev, swear I'm not biased!
